The Three Most Important Things
The other day I asked everyone if they would answer a question. The question was: List, in order, the three most important things in your life.
The following is a summary of the top answers that were posted. I have organized them into groups of answers that were similar. In no particular order, the answers included:
- God, Jesus, Faith (#1 in a majority of responses)
- Family, Children
- Friends
- Health
- Sobriety, Recovery
- Happiness, Peace, Love
- Home, Country
Where are you God?
Life can seem very hard and unfair at times.
When facing the loss a job, a divorce, illness, or some other serious problem, you might begin to ask yourself “when will God help me?” It may even get to the point where we may start to feel abandoned and alone.
And then someone like me, a friend of yours, or a minister comes along and tells you “to have faith in God because God will never leave you or let you fall completely” or that “this is the time He is working to make you stronger.” But to you these are only words. Your situation may seem so desperate that you cannot even relate to this.

“And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord. I Almost Lost Christmas
God’s timing is amazing.
Yesterday (Sunday) I wrote an article that I almost posted but something told me not to. I was getting the feeling that I should wait and so I did.
When I write an article I want to write it out of love with a message of hope and inspiration for both me and my readers. The article I wrote Sunday was written out of frustration. The title of the article I wrote was “Are We Losing Christmas?”
I have been getting more and more frustrated because everywhere I turn Christmas seems to be taking a back seat to some company trying to sell us something or some group of people trying to take the word Christmas out of our vocabulary. Christmas trees have become holiday trees. TV ads tell you that you can’t have a Merry Christmas unless you buy whatever it is that they are selling. And most of the stores that want your money from you at Christmas time won’t even use the word Christmas anymore. There is no more Merry Christmas – now it’s only happy holidays.
