Elmer thank you so much. It is easy for me to make those little decisions, but sometimes in the midst of human fraility, the big decisions are too hard. I am thankful that you keep these resources available to me to remind me when I am blinded by my enemy. I know this post is much later than others, but because your series is helpful to me today I had to share.

I took my time in prayer today, shared the quiet as I seek the answers, and celebrate the fact “God will take care of me”

Everyday I look forward to reading what God has laid on your heart to help me and many others through our daily walk in life. My Father always told me “I will always give you advice whether you take it or not is up to you.” Some times I took it and some times I didn’t but I learned a lot and usually I should have followed his advice. It is the same with God. I haven’t always listened when God spoke to me but I am learning every day and listening more and more. I too am so thankful for the life He has given me.

The hardest thing in the world is to turn over that right to make choices to your kids and know in your heart it’s going to be the wrong one. It hurts to see them suffer the consequences, but all I can do is be there for them and make sure I don’t play the “I told you so” card. God blesses us in many ways and I am so thankful fo rthe life He has given me.

Your story reminds me of how my parents raised me. How I miss them. To their last day… I sought their councel. Being stubborn (funny… born of stub!) I have always been independent with a mind of my own… made good and bad decisions… but I always sought their advice first. So funny… I didnt always follow their advice but they were right most of the time! So many lessons learned.
I guess God knows I needed a counselor. I guess that is why He hollered so loud after my father died to let me know He was there. I wasnt paying attention before.
Elmer, your words remind me that my best decisions have been made when I talk to Him every day. I love listening for Him. You gave me a glmipse of the ‘forest’. I thank you for what you do! And I thank God for this life He has given me, for guiding me and for the incredible friends He has given me along the way…
